The move will bring improved customer support, maintenance and product supply to Bibliotheca’s UK client base from 1 October 2009. Bibliotheca specialises in developing, producing and marketing software and hardware for automation, inventory taking, and control and media security in libraries and will be supplying customer-specific state-of the art RFID solutions encompassing both hardware and software to the UK market. A number of prestigious libraries, such as the award-winning new Newcastle City Library, already use Bibliotheca equipment. Matthias Joos, CEO of Bibliotheca, comments, “The UK is a market leader in terms of RFID, using it innovatively in areas such as stock management and intelligent routing. We undertook a review of the service we provide to the UK market and believe that customers will receive greater benefits through us establishing a direct presence in the UK.” To aid a smooth transition to the UK, library and RFID systems specialist Axiell will provide onsite support to UK customers from its Nottingham and Dorset offices whilst Bibliotheca gears-up its UK operation.
