A mix of case studies, workshops, panel discussions and invited speakers will promote networking and the opportunity to learn from the collective experience of PebblePad users on areas such as pedagogies, processes and practices. Speakers will include Darren Cambridge, Associate Director of the Inter/National Coalition for Electronic Portfolio Research, Assistant Professor of Internet Studies and Information Literacy at George Mason University in the US and noted expert, author and speaker in the field of eportfolios. Lee Davies, Deputy Chief Executive of the Institute for Learning (IfL) the professional body for teachers, tutors, trainers and others teaching or training in further education will speak from the vocational and further education perspective. There are a variety of booking options available, from single workshops to full three-day residential packages. The conference will take place from 8-10 June 2010 in Shifnal, Shropshire, UK, a historic town located within easy reach of Birmingham and the M54. The company recently held a successful two-day retreat in November where six institutions discussed their experiences when implementing PebblePad and their organisations’ use of PebblePad. They devised a definition of PebblePad as a personal learning system within which eportfolios can be developed if a user wishes, or as a requirement of their course. Their shared experiences showed that PebblePad is a personal e-space where users can discover and understand more about their own learning, and also a space where they take charge and manage that learning.
